Microsoft Press Conference ReCap and Insight

Microsoft did way better this year, pulling out all the stops to impress us with third party games (Modern Warfare, Gears 3, Mass Effect 3 and Tomb Raider) as standouts. This help increase more buzz and increased on the Kinect features.

Kinect seems to be growing into more triple A titles than ever before, with voice command and taking advantage of what it has to offer. GRAW Future Soldier, Fable The Journey, and Mass Effect 3 are using this for the better.

Microsoft’s family games demo was also improved and reassured that they are a company to watch out for. With fantastic ideas, such as Star Wars, Kinect Sports 2, and Disneyland Adventures, it seems thrilling. The stand out has to be Double Fine’s Sesame Street Once Upon a Monster. Great for parents and kids and the art style is amazing. Another showstopper on this front was Dance Central 2, by the always amazing Harmonix. Allowing multiplayer and importing of older tracks, it will lead the dance video game market and take it by storm once more

Microsoft sort of fell with the Kinect Fun Labs, making it show a shadow of last year’s conference, but that was washed away by the early presentation of the apps and updates coming to XBOX Live. These proved Microsoft is leading an entertainment revolution with the inclusion of Live TV, YouTube, and Voice Command. They are stepping it up for once.

And that surprise at the end was amazing.

Microsoft Press Conference earns its A this year.

Microsoft To Announce Halo 4?

(via GameInformer) According to a screenshot taken from Microsoft’s E3 site by website Now Gamer, Microsoft has prepped coverage that reads: “The news millions of Halo fans have waited for: Halo 4 is on the way.” The page also made mention of a remastered version of the original Halo: “The epic game that launched a universe, remastered for a new generation.” We can only presume that this means updated graphics for the game, and maybe even a Kinect tie-in, but who knows.
